Inspection Procedure: Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Lexus IS 250. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (ATF TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
- Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the transmission.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition 1 (E2) - 9 (OIL) 79 Ω to 156 kΩ 1 (E2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher 9 (OIL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher HINT:
If the resistance is out of the specified range with either the ATF temperature shown in the table below, the driveability of the vehicle may decrease.
ATF Temperature Specified Condition 10°C (50°F) 5 to 8 kΩ 25°C (77°F) 2.5 to 4.5 kΩ 110°C (230°F) 0.22 to 0.28 kΩ
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)
- Connect the transmission wire connector to the transmission.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition E4-27 (OIL) - E4-26 (EOIL) 79 Ω to 156 kΩ - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check or short)
Tester Connection Specified Condition E4-27 (OIL) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher E4-26 (EOIL) - Body ground ↑
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE ECM
