DTC B2568: Lock in Back Window Panel Drive Motor RH Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW MOTOR RH) 
    1. Remove the sliding roof drive gear assembly (back window motor RH).

    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the back window motor.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 3
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Motor gear rotates clockwise
    3. Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of the motor.
      NOTE:

      Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

    4. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.
      NOTE:

      Make sure to perform the inspection after the motor cools down sufficiently. Otherwise the result may not meet the specified condition due to protection circuit operation in the motor.

      Standard Current

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Below 4 A
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Sliding Roof Drive Gear Assembly)
      *2 Motor Gear
      *3 Clockwise
      *4 Counterclockwise

    NG → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW MOTOR RH) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDE ROOF MOTOR - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P57 and P55 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P57-4 (R3R+) - P55-4 (R3R+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P57-8 (R3R-) - P55-7 (R3R-) Always Below 1 Ω
      P55-4 (R3R+) - P55-7 (R3R-) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P57-4 (R3R+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P57-8 (R3R-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Slide Roof Motor Assembly)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK SLIDE ROOF MOTOR ASSEMBLY (HARNESS AND CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the P57 and P55 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P57-4 (R3R+) - A1 Always Below 1 Ω
      P57-8 (R3R-) - A3 Always Below 1 Ω
      A1 - A3 Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Slide Roof Motor Assembly)

    NG → REPLACE SLIDE ROOF MOTOR ASSEMBLY (HARNESS OR CONNECTOR) 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
