DTC B255D: Luggage Door Closer Neutral Position Switch LH Abnormal Operation: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LH CLOSER POSITION SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      LH Closer Position SW Closer position switch LH signal/ON or OFF ON: Closer position switch LH on (luggage door fully closed)
      OFF: Closer position switch LH off (luggage door not fully closed)
      -

      OK

      The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

  2. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY LH (LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q42 and Q43 connectors.
    2. Check the on/off condition of the position switch built in the luggage door closer assembly LH.
    3. Confirm that the position switch changes when battery voltage is applied to the luggage door closer assembly LH motor side connector.

      Standard

      Position Switch Condition Condition Specified Condition
      Position Switch ON Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Position switch changes to off
      Position Switch OFF Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2
      Position switch changes to on
      NOTE:

      As soon as operation of the position switch is checked, disconnect the battery.

      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly LH (Luggage Door Closer Assembly LH))
      *2 Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly LH (Position Switch)

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY LH (LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY LH) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE LH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the Q42, Q43 and Q36 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q42-6 (LCLS) - Q36-7 (LCLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q36-7 (LCLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q43-2 (LCLE) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly LH)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY LH (HARNESS AND CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the Q42, Q43 and A connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q43-2 (LCLE) - A-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q42-6 (LCLS) - A-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q42-6 (LCLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY LH (HARNESS OR CONNECTOR) 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
