DTC B254D: Back Window Panel RH Pulse Sensor Abnormal Operation: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RH BW PANEL PULSE VALUE)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
- Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note RH BW Panel Pulse Value Back window panel RH pulse/Min.: -4000, Max.: 4000 -4000 to 4000 - OK
The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDE ROOF MOTOR ASSEMBLY - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the P57 and P53 connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW MOTOR RH)
- Disconnect the A connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A-5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*1 Component without harness connected

NG → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY (BACK WINDOW MOTOR RH)
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
- Reconnect the P57 and P53 connectors.
- Disconnect the A connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
