DTC B254C: Side Package Tray Switch LH Abnormal Operation: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LH SIDE PAC TRAY SW NO. 1, LH SIDE PAC TRAY SW NO. 2)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
- Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

- INSPECT NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE (NO. 1 SLIDE PACKAGE TRAY LH SWITCH)
- Disconnect the h8 connector.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

(No. 2 Package Tray Trim Hinge)*2 No. 1 Side Package Tray LH Switch *3 Fully stowed position *4 Temporarily moved clear position *5 Fully deployed position - - - Remove the slide roof motor assembly (side package tray motor).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (SPL1) - 2 (SPLE) While changing from fully stowed position to temporarily moved clear position Below 1 Ω → 10 kΩ or higher 1 (SPL1) - 2 (SPLE) While changing from temporarily moved clear position to fully deployed position 10 kΩ or higher 1 (SPL1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPLACE NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE (NO. 1 SIDE PACKAGE TRAY LH SWITCH)
OK: Go to next step
- Disconnect the h8 connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the h8 and Q36 connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

NG → REPLACE NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE (NO. 2 SIDE PACKAGE TRAY LH SWITCH)
OK: Go to next step
- Disconnect the h8 connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the h8 and Q36 connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
