DTC B2537: Roof Control Switch Malfunction: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (OPEN SW, CLOSE SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Open SW Roof control switch open signal/ON or OFF ON: OPEN switch pulled up
      OFF: OPEN switch not pulled up
      -
      Close SW Roof control switch close signal/ON or OFF ON: CLOSE switch pushed
      OFF: CLOSE switch not pushed
      -

      OK

      The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

  2. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the sliding roof switch assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 (OPN) - 4 (E) OPEN switch pulled up Below 1 Ω
      5 (OPN) - 4 (E) OPEN switch not pulled up 10 kΩ or higher
      6 (CLS) - 4 (E) CLOSE switch pressed Below 1 Ω
      6 (CLS) - 4 (E) CLOSE switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Sliding Roof Switch Assembly)

    NG → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SLIDING ROOF SWITCH ASSEMBLY - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the J93 and P53 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J93-5 (OPN) - P53-1 (OPN) Always Below 1 Ω
      J93-6 (CLS) - P53-17 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      J93-5 (OPN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J93-6 (CLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J93-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
