DTC B2541: Abnormal Luggage Door Drive Motor RH Pulse: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE PULSE/RH VALUE) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Luggage Pulse/Rh Value Luggage motor RH pulse/Min.: -4000, Max.: 4000 -4000 to 4000 -

      OK

      The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE RH - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P59 and P53 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P59-6 (LPRB) - P53-12 (LPRB) Always Below 1 Ω
      P59-5 (LPR) - P53-15 (LPR) Always Below 1 Ω
      P59-4 (LPRE) - P53-31 (LPRE) Always Below 1 Ω
      P53-12 (LPRB) - P53-31 (LPRE) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P53-15 (LPR) - P53-31 (LPRE) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P53-12 (LPRB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P53-15 (LPR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P53-31 (LPRE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly RH)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (HARNESS AND CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the P59 and A connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P59-6 (LPRB) - P59-4 (LPRE) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P59-5 (LPR) - P59-4 (LPRE) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P59-6 (LPRB) - A-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      P59-5 (LPR) - A-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      P59-4 (LPRE) - A-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly RH)

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (HARNESS OR CONNECTOR) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the P53 and P59 connectors.

    2. Disconnect the A connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-6 - A-4 Always 6 to 10 V

    NG → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

    OK → REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH (LUGGAGE MOTOR RH)
