Luggage Compartment Door Opener does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SYSTEM (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH) 
    1. When the luggage compartment door opener main switch is on, push the luggage compartment door opener inner switch and check that the luggage compartment door opens.

      *1 Luggage Compartment Door Opener Main Switch

      OK

      Luggage compartment door opener system operates normally.

    2. When the luggage compartment door opener main switch is off, push the luggage compartment door opener inner switch and check that the luggage compartment door does not open.

      OK

      Luggage compartment door opener system does not operate.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → END 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
      BODY

      Trunk and Back-Door Open Operate luggage compartment door lock motor ON/OFF -

      OK

      Luggage compartment door lock motor operates.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Trunk/BDoor Open SW Luggage door opening inner switch/ON or OFF ON: Luggage compartment door opener inner switch is pressed
      OFF: Luggage compartment door opener inner switch is not pressed

      OFF: Luggage compartment door opener main switch is not pushed

      OK

      On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to the above chart.

    C → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)

  4. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener inner switch. Refer to REMOVAL .

      *1 Component without harness connected

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 - 6 Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      5 - 6 Free (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)) 
    1. Disconnect the J75 main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J14-6 - J75-3 (TKUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      J14-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J14-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH) 

  6. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener main switch. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)) 
    1. Disconnect the J75 main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J57-2 - J75-2 (TSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      J57-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J57-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH) 

  8. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door lock. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Move the door lock to the closed (locked) position.

      *3 Closed (Locked)
    3. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check the operation of the door lock motor.

      OK

      Connection Result
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (M+)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (E)
      Luggage compartment door lock motor opens door lock
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q44-4 (OPN) - Q44-1 (E) Open (Unlocked) Below 1 Ω
      Q44-4 (OPN) - Q44-1 (E) Closed (Locked) 10 kΩ or higher
      Q44-2 (CLS) - Q44-1 (E) Open (Unlocked) 10 kΩ or higher
      Q44-2 (CLS) - Q44-1 (E) Closed (Locked) Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   12 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK - MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH)) 
    1. Disconnect the J74 main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q44-3 (M+) - J74-1 (TR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q44-3 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q44-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU RH (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH) 

  10. REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  11. REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK. Refer to  REMOVAL
