Luggage Compartment Door Opener Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Delete the DTC.
    2. Check for DTC.

      OK

      DTC B1200 is not output.

    NG → GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and check that the luggage compartment door lock motor operates.
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Trunk/Bdor Open Operate luggage compartment door lock motor ON/OFF -

      OK

      Luggage compartment door lock motor operates.

    OK → See step   5 

    NG: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door lock.

    2. Move the door lock to the lock position.
    3. Apply battery voltage to the door lock motor and check operation of the door lock motor.
      OK:

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (B)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (E)
      Luggage compartment door lock motor unlock

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q42 lock and J74 ECU connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q42-1 (B) - J74-1 (TR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q42-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q42-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the turn the Techstream main switch on.
    3. Select Trnk/Bdr Opn SW and Trunk Main SW in the Data List and read the value display on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Trnk/Bdr Opn SW Luggage door opening inner switch/ON or OFF ON: Luggage compartment door opener inner switch is pressed
      OFF: Luggage compartment door opener inner switch is not pressed
      -
      Trunk Main SW Luggage door opener main switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Luggage compartment door opener main switch is pushed
      ON: Luggage compartment door opener main switch is not pushed
      -

      OK

      ON (luggage compartment door opener inner switch is pressed) appears on the tester.

      OK

      ON (luggage compartment door opener main switch is pressed) appears on the tester.

      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      NG (Luggage compartment door opener main switch) A
      NG (Luggage compartment door opener inner switch) B
      OK (Luggage compartment door opener main switch and Luggage compartment door opener inner switch) C

    C → REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MAIN BODY ECU RH) 

    B → See step   8 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener main switch.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher
      Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR MAIN OPENER SWITCH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER MAIN SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Install the luggage compartment door opener main switch.
    2. Disconnect the J57 switch and J75 ECU connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J57-2 - J75-2 (TSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      J57-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J57-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MAIN BODY ECU RH) 

  8. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door opener inner switch.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 - 6 Pushed (ON) Below 1 Ω
      Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER INNER SWITCH 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR INNER OPENER SW - MAIN BODY ECU RH) 
    1. Install the luggage compartment door opener inner switch.
    2. Disconnect the J14 switch and J75 ECU connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J14-6 - J75-3 (TKUL) Always Below 1 Ω
      J14-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J14-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH (MAIN BODY ECU RH)
