Manual Transmission Extension Housing Oil Seal: Replacement: Replacement

- REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
- DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
- REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
- DRAIN MANUAL TRANSMISSION OIL
- Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the transmission oil.
- Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)
- REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
- REMOVE OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
- REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
- REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL
- Using SST, remove the oil seal.

- Using SST, remove the oil seal.
- INSTALL MANUAL TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OIL SEAL
- Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal to the extension housing.

Installation depth
- 0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.020 to 0.020 in.)
- Coat the lip of the oil seal with MP grease.
- Using SST and a hammer, install a new oil seal to the extension housing.
- INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
- INSPECT AND ADJUST NO. 2 AND NO. 3 JOINT ANGLE . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
- INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
- INSTALL OUTSIDE AIR GUIDE PLATE RH . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
- INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
- INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
- INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
- INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
- ADD MANUAL TRANSMISSION OIL
- Park the vehicle in a level place.
- Remove the transmission filler plug and gasket.
- Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.20 in.) below the lowest point of the transmission filler plug opening.

API GL-5
Viscosity
SAE 75W-90
NOTE:- Problems may occur when the oil level is too high or too low.
- After replacing the oil, drive the vehicle and check the oil level again.
- Check for oil leakage if the oil level is low.
- Install the transmission filler plug and a new gasket.
Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf)
- CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 11
