FRONT BRAKE PAD, BRAKE CALIPER & BRAKE ROTOR (for 2GR-FSE): Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the caliper with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 78 N*m (799 kgf*cm, 58 ft.*lbf) 

  2. CONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE 
    1. Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt and a new gasket.

      Torque: 39 N*m (400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake cylinder assembly.

  3. INSTALL DISC BRAKE PAD AND ANTI-SQUEAL SHIMS 
    1. Install the No. 1 anti-squeal shim and No. 2 anti-squeal shim to each disc brake pad.

      *1 No. 1 Anti-squeal Shim (Large)
      *2 No. 2 Anti-squeal Shim (Small)
      NOTE:
      • When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
      • The No. 1 anti-squeal shim is larger than the No. 2 anti-squeal shim. Make sure to install them in the correct order.
    2. Install the disc brake pad to the disc brake cylinder assembly.

      *A for Type A *B for Type B
      *1 Outer Pad *2 Inner Pad
      *3 Pad Wear Indicator - -
      Direction of Disc Rotation for Forward Movement Chamfered Edge (Small)
      Chamfered Edge (Large) Chamfered Edge (Same Size)
      NOTE:
      • for Type A: The upper and lower edges of the brake pads are chamfered differently. Install each brake pad to the correct side and in the correct position as shown in the illustration.
      • for Type B: The upper and lower edges of the brake pads are the equally chamfered.
      • The disc brake pad with the pad wear indicator is positioned on the inside of the vehicle.
      • Install the disc brake pads in the correct directions.
      • There should be no oil or grease on the shims and friction surfaces of the pads and disc.
  4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING 
    1. Install the hole pin while pushing on the front disc brake anti-rattle spring.

    2. Install the clip.
  5. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE WITH HOLE PIN 
  6. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID  See step  1
  7. BLEED BRAKE LINE  See step  3
  8. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY  See step  4
  9. INSPECT FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR  See step  5
  10. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK 
  11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
