Register Illumination: Inspection: Inspection

  1. INSPECT REGISTER ILLUMINATION (LH Side) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the register.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J11-1 - Body ground Dimmer switch ON 10 to 14 V
      J11-1 - Body ground Dimmer switch OFF Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2.

    4. Check that the register illumination comes on.

      OK

      Comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the register illumination.

  2. INSPECT REGISTER ILLUMINATION (RH Side) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the register.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J73-1 - Body ground Dimmer switch ON 10 to 14 V
      J73-1 - Body ground Dimmer switch OFF Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2.

    4. Check that the register illumination comes on.

      OK

      Comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the register illumination.

  3. INSPECT REGISTER ILLUMINATION (Center) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the register.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J90-1 - Body ground Dimmer switch ON 10 to 14 V
      J90-1 - Body ground Dimmer switch OFF Below 1 V

      If the result is not as specified, repair or replace the wire harness or connector.

    3. Connect the (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the (-) lead to terminal 2.

    4. Check that the register illumination comes on.

      OK

      Comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the register illumination.
