DTC P2532-772: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P2532-772 only is output A
      DTC P2532-772 is not output B

      HINT: 

      P2532-772 may be output due to a malfunction which causes the DTCs in the table above to be output. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the table above. Then, perform a reproduction test to check that no DTCs are output.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BUS CHECK) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Check BUS CHECK.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The screen does not display the skid control ECU and A/C amplifier. A
      The screen displays the skid control ECU and A/C amplifier. B

    B → See step   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Disconnect connector A58 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A58-57 (IGSW) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
    3. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   9 

  4. CHECK NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the engine room junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1A-1 - 1A-4 Does not apply battery voltage between terminals 1A-2 and 1A-3 Below 1 Ω
      1A-1 - 1A-4 Apply battery voltage between terminals 1A-2 and 1A-3 10 kΩ or more

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (to No. 1 Integration Relay)
    3. Install the No. 1 integration relay.

    NG → REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU 
    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the engine room junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1A-2 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      (to No. 1 Integration Relay)
    3. Install the No. 1 integration relay.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the connectors of ECUs and components that are connected to the IGN fuse and MET fuse.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A58-57 (IGSW) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
    3. Connect the connectors that were previously disconnected.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
    1. Check for intermittent problems. Refer toCHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    OK → See step   9 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect connector F51 from the power management control ECU.
    2. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the engine room junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F51-8 (IG2D) - IG2 relay terminal 2 Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      (to Power Management Control ECU)
    4. Install the No. 1 integration relay.
    5. Connect the power management control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   11 

  9. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to COMPONENTS 
  10. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  11. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to COMPONENTS
