DTC P0A09-265: DC / DC Converter Status Circuit Low Input: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC P0A09-265 only is output. A
      DTC P0AE6-225 is also output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) See step   3 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER CONNECTOR) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Check the connection of the hybrid vehicle converter (DC/DC converter) connector.

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair service information because this may cause a malfunction.

    2. Disconnect connector A58 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
    3. Disconnect connector z17 from the hybrid vehicle converter.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A58-75 (NODD) - z17-2 (NODD) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A58-75 (NODD) or z17-2 (NODD) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
      *2 Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Hybrid Vehicle Converter)
    5. Connect the hybrid vehicle converter connector.
    6. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU See step   9 

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → See step   7 

  6. GO TO DTC CHART (P0AE6-225). Refer to DTC P0AE6-225: Hybrid Battery Precharge Contactor Control Circuit Low 
  7. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER. Refer to COMPONENTS 
  8. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to COMPONENTS
