How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CONNECT TECHSTREAM TO THE DLC3* 

    HINT: 

    If the display on the tester indicates a communication fault, inspect the DLC3.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK DTC AND SAVE FREEZE FRAME DATA*. Refer to  DTC CHECK / CLEAR  . Refer to  INFORMATION / FREEZE FRAME DATA 

    HINT: 

    Make sure to save freeze frame data because the data is necessary for a simulation test.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. CLEAR DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA*. Refer to  DTC CHECK / CLEAR  

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  6. CONDUCT VISUAL INSPECTION 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. CONFIRM PROBLEM SYMPTOMS 

    HINT: 

    If the engine does not start, perform steps 9 and 11 first.

  8. DUPLICATE CONDITIONS THAT PRODUCE SYMPTOMS

  9. CHECK FOR DTCS*. Refer to  DTC CHECK / CLEAR

  10. REFER TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  

    NEXT → GO TO   13 STEP 13 

  11. CONDUCT BASIC INSPECTION

  12. CHECK ECU POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT

  13. CONDUCT CIRCUIT INSPECTION
