DTC C1791/91: Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) Switch Circuit (Test Mode DTC): Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DAMPING CONTROL SWITCH)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Chassis / Air suspension / Data List.AIR SUSPENSION
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Damping Control Switch Absorber control switch /
NORMAL, COMFORT or SPORTIndicates current absorber control switch position - - Check that the value displayed on the Techstream changes by operating the absorber control switch between COMF, NORMAL and SPORT.

- INSPECT ABSORBER CONTROL SWITCH (COMBINATION SWITCH)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Remove the combination switch. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ABSORBER CONTROL SWITCH - SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the I5 combination switch connector.
- Disconnect the A40 suspension control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition I5-1 (ECU1) - A40-23 (TSW1) Always Below 1 Ω I5-11 (ECU2) - A40-22 (TSW2) Always Below 1 Ω I5-9 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω i5-1 (ECU1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher i5-11 (ECU2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
- REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
- REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU. Refer to REMOVAL
