Hydraulic Brake Booster: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET 
    1. Install a new brake booster gasket to the hydraulic brake booster.
  2. INSTALL HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the hydraulic brake booster assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 14 N*m (145 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the clamp to the body with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the brake tube to the clamp.
      NOTE:
      • If excessive force is used when connecting the brake tube to the clamp, the clamp may brake.
      • If the clamp breaks, do not reuse it. Replace the clamp with a new one.
    4. Connect the 3 brake tubes to the clamp.
    5. Connect the 4 brake lines to the correct positions of the hydraulic brake booster assembly as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      • *1: To front wheel cylinder RH
      • *2: To front wheel cylinder LH
      • *3: To rear wheel cylinder RH
      • *4: To rear wheel cylinder LH
    6. Using a union nut wrench, connect the 4 brake lines to the hydraulic brake booster assembly.

      Torque: 15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where a union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench. Refer to PRECAUTION .

    7. Install the wiring harness bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      Insert the end of the bracket into the hole when installing the bracket.

    8. Attach the VSC connector to the wiring harness bracket.
    9. Attach the clamp.
    10. Connect the 3 connectors to the hydraulic brake booster assembly.

  3. INSTALL AIR INJECTION CONTROL DRIVER WITH BRACKET  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  4. INSTALL PUSH ROD PIN  See step  2
  5. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  6. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH 
    1. Install the engine room side cover LH with the 4 clips.
  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  8. BLEED BRAKE SYSTEM  See step  2
  9. CHECK AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL 
    1. Check and adjust brake pedal. Refer to ADJUSTMENT .
  10. INSPECT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER OPERATION 
    1. Inspect the brake master cylinder operation. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .
  11. PERFORM YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 
    1. Perform yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point calibration. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4 .
