DTC C193D: Malfunction in Front Active Stabilizer Control ECU Local CAN Transmission: Procedure

  1. INSPECT ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect the E active stabilizer battery current sensor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (BSV) - 4 (BSG) Always 3 to 10 kΩ
      2 (BSV) - 3 (BSC) Always Below 0.5 kΩ
      3 (BSC) - 4 (BSG) Always 3 to 10 kΩ
      1 (BST) - 4 (BSG) Always 1.5 to 2.5 kΩ

    NG → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU - ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the z20 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the E active stabilizer battery current sensor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z20-4 (BSC) - E-3 (BSC) Always Below 1 Ω
      z20-4 (BSC) or E-3 (BSC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z20-3 (BSV) - E-2 (BSV) Always Below 1 Ω
      z20-3 (BSV) or E-2 (BSV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z20-6 (BSG) - E-4 (BSG) Always Below 1 Ω
      z20-6 (BSG) or E-4 (BSG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z20-5 (BST) - E-1 (BST) Always Below 1 Ω
      z20-5 (BST) or E-1 (BST) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE)

    1. Disconnect the A58 front active stabilizer control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A58-1 (LCN+) - A58-8 (LCN-) Power switch off 54 to 69 Ω
      A58-2 (CANH) - A58-3 (CANL)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE)

    1. Disconnect the y1 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      y1-1 (LCN+) - y1-8 (LCN-) Power switch off 54 to 69 Ω
      y1-2 (CANH) - y1-3 (CANL)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE)

    1. Disconnect the A23 power steering ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A23-1 (CAN+) - A23-8 (CAN-) Power switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE)

    1. Disconnect the A40 steering control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A40-4 (CAN+) - A40-9 (CAN-) Power switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK OPERATION OF FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Exchange the front active stabilizer control ECU with the rear active stabilizer control ECU.
    3. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG) and press the Techstream main switch ON.
    5. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    6. Check for DTC.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C1916 is output A
      DTC is not output B

    A → CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    B → See step   8 

  8. REPLACE FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
