DTC C1916: Malfunction in Rear Active Stabilizer Control ECU Local CAN Transmission: Procedure

  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the A58 front active stabilizer control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A58-1 (LCN+) - A58-8 (LCN-) 54 to 69 Ω
      A58-2 (CANH) - A58-3 (CANL)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the y1 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      y1-1 (LCN+) - y1-8 (LCN-) 54 to 69 Ω
      y1-2 (CANH) - y1-3 (CANL)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the A23 power steering ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A23-1 (CAN+) - A23-8 (CAN-) 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CAN COMMUNICATION LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the A40 steering control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A40-4 (CAN+) - A40-9 (CAN-) 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK OPERATION OF REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF.
    2. Exchange the front active stabilizer control ECU with the rear active stabilizer control ECU.
    3. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and press the Techstream main switch ON.
    5. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    6. Check for DTC.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC C193D is output A
      DTC is not output B

    B → CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    A → REPLACE REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU
