Luggage Room Light Circuit: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the room light (luggage) illuminates.
      BODY NO. 3 (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU LH)

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      Luggage Light Control Luggage light ON / OFF -

      OK

      Luggage room light illuminates.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. INSPECT FUSE (RR-B) 
    1. Remove the RR-B fuse from the No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard resistance

      Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE ROOM LIGHT (LUGGAGE) 
    1. Temporarily replace the room light (luggage) with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Turn the room light switch ON.
    3. Check that the light illuminates.

      OK

      Room light illuminates.

    OK → END 

    NG: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU LH - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the V3 ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      V3-3 (LGCY) - Body ground Room light switch ON 10 to 14 V
      V3-3 (LGCY) - Body ground Room light switch OFF 0 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER (LUGGAGE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 

    Inspection. Refer to INSPECTION

    OK

    Luggage door closer (luggage door courtesy switch) is normal.

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ECU LH - LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the V3 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the Y5 closer connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      V3-8 (CCTY) - Y5-4 (CTY) Below 1 Ω
      V3-8 (CCTY) or Y5-4 (CTY) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      Y5-3 (E) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
