Inside Handle Illumination Light Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPERATION OF INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION 
    1. When a door is opened, check that the following inside handle illumination lights illuminate.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Inside handle illumination (front LH) does not illuminate A
      Inside handle illumination (front RH) does not illuminate B
      Inside handle illumination (rear LH) does not illuminate C
      Inside handle illumination (rear RH) does not illuminate D

    D → See step   11 

    C → See step   8 

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the inside handle illumination light illuminates.
      DRIVER DOOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU FRONT LH)

      OK

      Light illuminates.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  3. REPLACE INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (FRONT LH) 
    1. Temporarily replace the inside handle illumination (front LH) with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check that the illumination light illuminates.

      OK

      Inside handle illumination light illuminates.

    OK → END 

    NG: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ECU FRONT LH - INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (FRONT LH)) 
    1. Disconnect the M9 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the Q9 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M9-14 (LED+) - Q9-1 Below 1 Ω
      M9-13 (LED-) - Q9-2 Below 1 Ω
      M9-14 (LED+) or Q9-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      M9-13 (LED-) or Q9-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the inside handle illumination light illuminates.

      Passenger Door (Multiplex network door ECU front RH)

      Inside Handle Illumination Inside handle illumination ON / OFF -

      OK

      Light illuminates.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  6. REPLACE INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (FRONT RH) 
    1. Temporarily replace the inside handle illumination (front RH) with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check that the illumination light illuminates.

      OK

      Inside handle illumination light illuminates.

    OK → END 

    NG: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ECU FRONT RH - INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (FRONT RH)) 
    1. Disconnect the M4 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the Q1 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      M4-14 (LED+) - Q1-1 Below 1 Ω
      M4-13 (LED-) - Q1-2 Below 1 Ω
      M4-14 (LED+) or Q1-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      M4-13 (LED-) or Q1-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the inside handle illumination light illuminates.
      REAR LEFT DOOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU REAR LH)

      OK

      Light illuminates.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  9. REPLACE INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (REAR LH) 
    1. Temporarily replace the inside handle illumination (rear LH) with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check that the illumination light illuminates.

      OK

      Inside handle illumination light illuminates.

    OK → END 

    NG: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ECU REAR LH - INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (REAR LH)) 
    1. Disconnect the O7 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the S7 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      O7-14 (LED+) - S7-1 Below 1 Ω
      O7-13 (LED-) - S7-2 Below 1 Ω
      O7-14 (LED+) or S7-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      O7-13 (LED-) or S7-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  11. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the inside handle illumination light illuminates.
      REAR RIGHT DOOR (MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU REAR RH)

      OK

      Light illuminates.

    NG → See step   12 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  12. REPLACE INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (REAR RH) 
    1. Temporarily replace the inside handle illumination (rear RH) with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check that the illumination light illuminates.

      OK

      Inside handle illumination light illuminates.

    OK → END 

    NG: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR ECU REAR RH - INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION (REAR RH)) 
    1. Disconnect the O3 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the S3 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      O3-14 (LED+) - S3-1 Below 1 Ω
      O3-13 (LED-) - S3-2 Below 1 Ω
      O3-14 (LED+) or S3-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      O3-13 (LED-) or S3-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
