Front Fog Light Circuit: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the fog light illuminates.
      BODY NO. 5 (FRONT CONTROLLER)

      Item Test Details Diagnostic Note
      Front Fog Light Relay Front fog light relay ON / OFF -

      OK

      Fog light illuminates.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. INSPECT FUSE (FR FOG, FR CTRL-AM) 
    1. Remove the FR CTRL-AM fuse from the engine room No. 2 relay block.
    2. Remove the FR FOG fuse from the engine room No. 2 junction block.
    3. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard resistance

      Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE FOG LIGHT BULB (FRONT RH OR FRONT LH) 
    1. Temporarily replace the fog light bulb with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Check that the bulb illuminates.

      OK

      Fog light bulb illuminates.

    OK → END 

    NG: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ENGINE ROOM NO. 2 JUNCTION BLOCK - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the 2E junction block connector.

    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      2E-1 - Body ground 10 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ENGINE ROOM NO. 2 JUNCTION BLOCK - FOG LIGHT (FRONT LH OR FRONT RH) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Check the wire harness between the fog light (front LH) and engine room No. 2 junction block, and the fog light (front LH) and body ground.

      1. Disconnect the 2G junction block connector.
      2. Disconnect the B12 fog light connector.
      3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard resistance

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        2G-7 - B12-2 Below 1 Ω
        2G-7 or B12-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
        B12-1 - Body ground Below 1 Ω
    2. Check the wire harness between the fog light (front RH) and engine room No. 2 junction block, and the fog light (front RH) and body ground.

      1. Disconnect the 2G junction block connector.
      2. Disconnect the B1 fog light connector.
      3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard resistance

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        2G-6 - B1-2 Below 1 Ω
        2G-6 or B1-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
        B1-1 - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
