Door Courtesy Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the courtesy switch.
      BODY (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

      D door Courtesy SW Driver side courtesy switch / ON or OFF ON: Driver side door is open
      OFF: Driver side door is closed

      P door Courtesy SW Passenger side courtesy switch / ON or OFF ON: Passenger side door is open
      OFF: Passenger side door is closed
      -
      Rear door Courtesy SW Rear (LH or RH) courtesy switch / ON or OFF ON: Rear door (LH or RH) is open
      OFF: Rear door (LH or RH) is closed
      -

      OK

      Condition sign can be displayed.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK A
      Driver side door courtesy switch does not operate B
      Front passenger side door courtesy switch does not operate C
      Both rear door courtesy switches do not operate D

    D → See step   6 

    C → See step   4 

    B → See step   2 

    A → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT LH) 

    Inspection. Refer to INSPECTION

    OK

    Door courtesy light switch is normal.

    NG → REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT LH) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT LH) - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the U1 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the V7 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      U1-14 (DCTY) - V7-1 Below 1 Ω
      U1-14 (DCTY) or V7-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  4. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT RH) 

    Inspection. Refer to INSPECTION

    OK

    Door courtesy light switch is normal.

    NG → REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT RH) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (FRONT RH) - MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the K68 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the U4 switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      K68-23 (PCTY) - U4-1 Below 1 Ω
      K68-23 (PCTY) or U4-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  6. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (REAR LH OR REAR RH) 

    Inspection. Refer to INSPECTION

    OK

    Door courtesy light switch is normal.

    NG → REPLACE DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (REAR LH OR REAR RH) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH (REAR LH OR REAR RH) - COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK RH OR MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Check the wire harness between the cowl side junction block RH and door courtesy switch (rear LH).

      1. Disconnect the DA junction block connector.
      2. Disconnect the V13 switch connector.
      3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard resistance

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        DA-11 (LCTY) - V13-1 Below 1 Ω
        DA-11(LCTY) or V13-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    2. Check the wire harness between the multiplex network body ECU and door courtesy switch (rear RH).

      1. Disconnect the U1 ECU connector.
      2. Disconnect the U11 switch connector.
      3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

        Standard resistance

        Tester Connection Specified Condition
        U1-16 (RCTY) - U11-1 Below 1 Ω
        U1-16 (RCTY) or U11-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
