DTC B2414: Steering Position Sensor Malfunction: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream on.
- Select the items below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the Techstream.AFS (AFS ECU)

OK: Go to next step
- Check the DTC of vehicle stability control system.
- CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION
- Check vehicle condition.

- Check vehicle condition.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEERING SENSOR - AFS ECU)
- Disconnect the K19 steering sensor connector.
- Disconnect the A29 AFS ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition K19-7 (SS1-) - A29-8 (SS-) Always Below 1 Ω K19-8 (SS1+) - A29-7 (SS+) Always Below 1 Ω A29-8 (SS-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A29-7 (SS+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK AFS ECU
- Reconnect the K19 steering sensor connector.
- Reconnect the A29 AFS ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage of the connector.
Standard voltage

A → REPLACE AFS ECU
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEERING CONTROL ECU - AFS ECU)
- Disconnect the A40 Steering Control ECU connector.
- Disconnect The A29 AFS ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A40-5 (AFS-) - A29-8 (SS-) Always Below 1 Ω A40-2 (AFS+) - A29-7 (SS+) Always Below 1 Ω A29-8 (SS-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A29-7 (SS+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK AFS ECU
- Reconnect the A29 AFS ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage of the connector.
