DTC C1925: Low Capacity Sub Battery; DTC C194E: Deterioration of Sub Battery: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Confirm with the customer that the vehicle has not been used for purposes other than standard driving.

      OK

      No other parts are installed to battery (for active stabilizer)

      Vehicle has not been used in harsh conditions (slalom driving for extended periods of time, etc.)

    NG → TEST FOR RECURRENCE OF PROBLEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the E active stabilizer battery current sensor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 (BSV) - 4 (BSG) Always 3 to 10 kΩ
      2 (BSV) - 3 (BSC) Always Below 0.5 kΩ
      3 (BSC) - 4 (BSG) Always 3 to 10 kΩ
      1 (BST) - 4 (BSG) Always 1.5 to 2.5 kΩ

    NG → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CURRENT SENSOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU - ACTIVE STABILIZER BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the z8 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the E active stabilizer battery current sensor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z8-4 (BSC) - E-3 (BSC) Always Below 1 Ω
      z8-4 (BSC) or E-3 (BSC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z8-3 (BSV) - E-2 (BSV) Always Below 1 Ω
      z8-3 (BSV) or E-2 (BSV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z8-6 (BSG) - E-4 (BSG) Always Below 1 Ω
      z8-6 (BSG) or E-4 (BSG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z8-5 (BST) - E-1 (BST) Always Below 1 Ω
      z8-5 (BST) or E-1 (BST) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK SURROUNDING CONDITIONS (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE) 
    1. Check the ambient temperature of the active stabilizer converter.

      OK

      No factors causing high temperatures

    NG → ELIMINATE FACTORS CAUSING HIGH TEMPERATURES 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU - ACTIVE STABILIZER CONVERTER) 
    1. Disconnect the e1 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the e4 active stabilizer converter connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e1-7 (BT+) - e4-5 (BT+) Always Below 1 Ω
      e1-7 (BT+) or e4-5 (BT+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e1-10 (DDON) - e4-7 (DDON) Always Below 1 Ω
      e1-10 (DDON) or e4-7 (DDON) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e1-11 (MRL) - e4-8 (BT-) Always Below 1 Ω
      e1-11 (MRL) or e4-8 (BT-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ACTIVE STABILIZER CONVERTER - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the e3 active stabilizer converter connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e3-2 (DDLI) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      e3-1 (DDPB) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer) 
    1. Wait 10 minutes after stopping the engine.
    2. Inspect the voltage of the battery terminals.

      Standard voltage

      12.4 V or higher

      HINT: 

      If the result is not as specified, charge the battery, wait 10 minutes or more and inspect the voltage of the battery terminals again.

      NOTE:

      The terminals of the battery must be connected correctly when replacing the battery. If the battery terminals are connected incorrectly (positive and negative terminals connected in reverse), replace the active stabilizer converter and STB DC/DC fuse with new ones.

    NG → REPLACE BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. INSPECT FUSE (STB RR) 
    1. Remove the STB RR H-fuse from the luggage room No. 6 relay block.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      STB RR H-fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RELAY BLOCK - BATTERY) 
    1. Remove the rear active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 3 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. INSPECT REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY (Marking: STB RR) 
    1. Remove the rear active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 When battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      When battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. INSPECT FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY (Marking: STB FR) 
    1. Remove the front active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 When battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      When battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY CIRCUIT 
    1. Remove the front and rear active stabilizer relays from the luggage room No. 6 relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 1 - Front active stabilizer relay terminal 1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 1 or front active stabilizer relay terminal 1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 2 - Front active stabilizer relay terminal 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 2 or front active stabilizer relay terminal 2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM RELAY BLOCK 

    OK: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU - RELAY BLOCK) 
    1. Disconnect the e1 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector.
    2. Remove the rear active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      e1-4 (PIG) - Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 5 Always Below 1 Ω
      e1-4 (PIG) or Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e1-6 (MRH) - Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 1 Always Below 1 Ω
      e1-6 (MRH) or Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      e1-5 (PGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU - RELAY BLOCK) 
    1. Disconnect the A49 front active stabilizer control ECU connector.
    2. Remove the front active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-11 (MRL) - Relay block front active stabilizer relay terminal 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-11 (MRL) or Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  15. CHECK OPERATION OF ACTIVE STABILIZER CONVERTER 
    1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and press the Techstream main switch ON.
    3. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    4. Drive the vehicle and check if the problem recurs.
    5. Check for DTC.

      OK

      DTC is not output.

    OK → RETURNS TO NORMAL 

    NG: Go to next step 

  16. CHECK OPERATION OF REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Exchange the front active stabilizer control ECU with the rear active stabilizer control ECU.
    3. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and press the Techstream main switch ON.
    5. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    6. Check for DTC.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC C1925 or C194E is output B

    B → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CONVERTER 

    A → See step   17 

  17. REPLACE REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
