Abnormal Noise: Procedure
- INSPECT ACTIVE STABILIZER INSTALLATION CONDITION
- Inspect the installation conditions of the front and rear active stabilizer control actuators.
OK
Installed securely (no looseness or rattling).
NG → REPAIR LOOSENESS OR RATTLING, OR REPLACE STABILIZER
OK: Go to next step
- Inspect the installation conditions of the front and rear active stabilizer control actuators.
- CONFIRM PHENOMENON (FAIL-SAFE MODE)
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Disconnect the rear active stabilizer control ECU connector and put the vehicle in fail-safe mode.
- While in fail-safe mode, perform the driving test and check if the noise recurs from the same areas of the vehicle.RESULT
Result Proceed to Noise recurs A Noise does not recur B

- CONFIRM PHENOMENON (STABILIZER LINK)
- Disconnect the rear active stabilizer control ECU connector and put the vehicle in fail-safe mode.
- Remove one side of the stabilizer link. For the front side, refer to the following procedures. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
. For the rear side, refer to the following procedures. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11

HINT:
One side of the stabilizer link is removed to reduce strain on the link when it experiences a shock or impact on the road.
- With one side of the stabilizer link removed, perform the driving test and check if the noise recurs from the same areas of the vehicle.NOTE:
The driving test must be performed in fail-safe mode. If the test is conducted in the normal mode, the stabilizer bar will move and damage nearby parts.

B → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR (ON SIDE WHERE NOISE OCCURS)
A: Go to next step
- CHECK OPERATION OF ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU
- Turn the engine switch off.
- Exchange the front active stabilizer control ECU with the rear active stabilizer control ECU.
- Restore the vehicle to its original state.
- Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG) and press the Techstream main switch ON.
- Clear the DTC.
- Perform the driving test and check if the noise recurs from the same areas of the vehicle.RESULT
Result Proceed to Location of noise has not changed A Location of noise has changed B Noise has stopped C HINT:
- If the problem area has changed, replace the active stabilizer control ECU on the side in which the problem is occurring.
- If the problem area has not changed, replace the active stabilizer control actuator on the side in which the problem is occurring.
B → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU
A → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR
C: Go to next step
- CHECK OPERATION OF ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU
- Restore the exchanged ECU to its original location.
- Perform the driving test to determine if the ECU is securely installed.
- Check if noise occurs.
OK
Noise does not occur.
OK → CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
NG → REPLACE ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU (ON SIDE WHERE NOISE OCCURS)
