| Either of the following conditions are met | Condition (a) or (b) |
| (a) All of the following conditions met | Condition 1 and 2 |
| 1. ECT | 20°C (68°F) or more, and sensor does not malfunction (P0115, P0117, P0118 and P0125) |
| 2. Time after PNP switch turned OFF | 10 seconds or more |
| (b) All of the following conditions are met | Condition 3 and 4 |
| 3. ECT and ECT sensor | Less than 20°C (68°F), and sensor malfunctions (P0115, P0117, P0118 and P0125) |
| 4. Time after PNP switch turned OFF | 30 seconds or more |
| Engine speed | 2250 RPM or more (varies with throttle valve opening angle) |
| Battery voltage | 8 V or more |
