Brake Pedal: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

  2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  3. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 38
  4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 39
  5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 40
  6. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9
  7. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN 
    1. Remove the clip and push rod pin from the brake pedal lever.

  8. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the stop light switch connector.
    2. Remove the stop light switch. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2 .
  9. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the brake pedal support reinforcement set bolt.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts and brake pedal support assembly.
