DTC P2519-766: A/C Request "A" Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P2519-766 only is output. A
      P0AE6-225 is output. B

    B → See step   8 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL CONVERTER CONNECTOR) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Remove the service plug grip. Refer to PRECAUTION .
      NOTE:

      After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair information because this may cause a malfunction.

    3. Check the connection of the low voltage connector of the hybrid vehicle converter.

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

      HINT: 

      For the removal and installation procedures related to inspection of the connection of the low voltage connector of the hybrid vehicle converter. Refer to REMOVAL .

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (BATTERY SMART UNIT CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connection of the battery smart unit connector.

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

      HINT: 

      It is necessary to move the HV battery to access the hybrid vehicle converter connector. For the removal and installation procedures related to inspection of the connection of the battery smart unit connector. Refer to REMOVAL .

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK BATTERY SMART UNIT 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
    2. With the battery in an accessible position, connect the battery smart unit and hybrid vehicle converter connectors.
    3. Connect the 2 floor wires to the luggage room junction block assembly.

    4. Insulate the AMD terminal of the removed wire with insulating tape to prevent a short to body ground.
    5. Connect the battery pack wire connector.

      HINT: 

      Connecting the battery wire connector will allow power to be supplied to the battery smart unit when the power switch is turned on (IG).

    6. Disconnect the low voltage connector from the hybrid vehicle converter.

    7. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    8. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      z35-5 (IDH) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → See step   7 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY SMART UNIT - HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER) 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
    3. Disconnect the battery pack wire connector.

    4. Disconnect connector z36 from the battery smart unit.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (Check for open)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      z36-4 (IDH) - z35-5 (IDH) Power switch off Below 1 Ω

      Standard resistance (Check for short)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      z36-4 (IDH) or z35-5 (IDH) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   6 

  6. REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  7. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  8. GO TO DTC CHART (P0AE6-225). Refer to  DTC P0AE6-225: Hybrid Battery Precharge Contactor Control Circuit Low
