DTC P2511-149: ECM/PCM Power Relay Sense Circuit Intermittent: Procedure

  1. CHECK BATTERY TERMINAL (CONTACT PROBLEM) 
    1. Check the connection of the auxiliary battery terminal.

      OK

      The terminal is connected securely and there is no contact problem.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

      OK

      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - IGCT2 RELAY) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Remove the IGCT2 relays from the engine room No. 2 relay block.
    3. Disconnect connector A76 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A76-2 (+B2) - Engine room No. 2 relay block IGCT2 relay terminal 3 Power switch off Below 1 Ω
      A76-1 (+B1) - Engine room No. 2 relay block IGCT2 relay terminal 3 Power switch off Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
    1. Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .
      1. Check the connection and terminal contact pressure of connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU and the engine room No. 2 relay block.
      2. When the power switch is on (READY), jiggle the connectors and wire harnesses between the hybrid vehicle control ECU and the engine room No. 2 relay block.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    OK → See step   5 

  5. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
