DTC P1557-887: DC / DC Converter Temperature Sensor Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P1557-887 only is output. A
      P0A93-346 is also output. B

    B → See step   18 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK QUANTITY OF HV COOLANT. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 2 

    C → CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AND ADD COOLANT 

    B → ADD HV COOLANT 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK COOLANT HOSE. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → CORRECT THE PROBLEM 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CONTROL THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 5 

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 6 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT COOLING SYSTEM (FOR CLOGGING). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 7 

    NG → REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS 

    OK → See step   20 

  8. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 8 

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → ADD HV COOLANT 

  9. CHECK FUSE (INV W/P). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 9 

    NG → See step   14 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 10 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 11 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 12 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  13. CHECK WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 13 

    NG → See step   22 

    OK → See step   21 

  14. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 14 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  15. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 15 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 16 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  17. CHECK WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 17 

    NG → See step   22 

    OK → See step   21 

  18. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  19. CHECK COOLING FAN SYSTEM. Refer to  Cooling Fan Circuit 
  20. REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  21. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  22. REPLACE WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
