DTC B279C - Theft Deterrent System Presence Detection

DESCRIPTION

If an ECM that is incompatible with the engine immobilizer system is installed, the ECM outputs this DTC.






INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
If the ECM is replaced, register the ECU communication ID Engine Immobilizer System.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Clear the DTCs Engine Immobilizer System.
(b) Recheck for DTCs.
OK:
DTC B279C output does not recur.
NG -- REPLACE ECM
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
