DTC B2005: Short to B+ in Seat Belt Motor LH Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Disconnect the Q13 connector of the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

    2. Turn the engine switch to on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q13-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      Q13-2 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Below 1 V
    4. Reconnect the Q13 connector of the front seat outer belt assembly LH.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    2. Disconnect the Q13 connector of the front seat outer belt assembly LH.
    3. Disconnect the Q58 connector of the seat belt control ECU.
    4. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.
    5. Turn the engine switch to on (IG).

    6. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q13-1 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      Q13-2 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Below 1 V
    7. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
    8. Reconnect the Q13 connector of the front seat outer belt assembly LH and Q58 connector of the seat belt control ECU.
    9. Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU) 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL
