DTC P3004-800: Power Cable Malfunction; DTC P3004-801: Power Cable Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result

YES → GO TO DTC CHART
NO: Go to next step
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)
- Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

OK
The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.
- CHECK WITH MOTOR COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Turn the power switch off and remove the service plug grip. Refer to PRECAUTION
NOTE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair service information because this may cause a malfunction.
- Disconnect the air conditioning harness from the inverter with converter assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition w9-1 - w9-2 100 kΩ or more NOTE:- Make sure that the tester probes are connected to the correct terminals.
- Do not use a megohmmeter.
- Read the resistance after the value has stabilized.
OK → See step 5
NG: Go to next step
- Turn the power switch off and remove the service plug grip. Refer to PRECAUTION
- CHECK AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- Disconnect the air conditioning harness from the with motor compressor assembly. Refer to COMPONENTS .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection Specified Condition w9-1 - w9-2 10 kΩ or more
NG → REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY
OK → See step 14
- CHECK FRAME WIRE WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- Remove the connector cover assembly from the inverter with converter assembly. Refer to COMPONENTS .
- Disconnect the frame wire from the inverter with converter assembly. Refer to COMPONENTS .
- Disconnect the frame wire from the HV relay assembly. Refer to COMPONENTS .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition w4-1 - w5-1 10 kΩ or more
NG → REPLACE FRAME WIRE
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND)
- Turn the power switch off.
- Disconnect the battery pack wire connector. Refer to COMPONENTS .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition NODD (VN1-6) - Body ground 120 to 140 kΩ
NG → See step 10
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER - BATTERY PACK WIRE CONNECTOR) WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- Disconnect connector N1 from the hybrid vehicle converter. Refer to COMPONENTS .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for open)
Tester Connection Specified Condition NODD (VN1-6) - NODD (N1-2) Below 1 Ω Standard resistance (Check for short)
Tester Connection Specified Condition NODD (VN1-6) or NODD (N1-2) - Body ground 10 kΩ or more
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER WARNING:
Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
- Disconnect the 3 high voltage connectors of the hybrid vehicle converter from the HV relay assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection Specified Condition z11-1 - z10-1 500 kΩ or more z11-1 - z12-1 10 MΩ or more NOTE:- Do not use a megohmmeter.
