DTC P2532-772: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      The following DTC is output simultaneously. 

      DTC No. Relevant Diagnosis
      P2532-772 Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High

    NO → See step   15 

    YES: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Body / (desired system) / DTC.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      The following DTC is output simultaneously. 

      DTC No. Relevant Diagnosis
      B1262 A/C ECU Communication Stop

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BUS CHECK) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Check "Bus Check".

      Result

      The screen displays the skid control ECU.

    OK → See step   9 

    NG: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FUSES (ECU-IG RH, ECU-IG LH) 
    1. Remove the ECU-IG RH fuse from the cowl side J/B RH.

    2. Remove the ECU-IG LH fuse from the cowl side J/B LH.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Fuse Tester connection Specified value
      ECU-IG RH 1 - 2 Below 1 Ω
      ECU-IG LH 1 - 2 Below 1 Ω
    4. Install the fuses.

    NG → REPLACE FUSES 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK RELAY (RH-IG RELAY 1, LH-IG RELAY 2) 
    1. Disconnect the cowl side J/B RH connectors.
    2. Disconnect the cowl side J/B LH connectors.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      PD-11 - PD-7 Approx. 88.2 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
      PM-1 - PK-1 10 kΩ or more
      PM-1 - PK-1 Below 1 Ω
      (Apply battery voltage between PD-11 and PD-7)
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      DD-6 - DD-7 Approx. 88.2 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
      DM-1 - DD-14 10 kΩ or more
      DM-1 - DD-14 Below 1 Ω
      (Apply battery voltage between DD-6 and DD-7)

    NG → REPLACE RELAY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - COWL SIDE J/B RH, LH) 
    1. Disconnect the power source control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the cowl side J/B RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the cowl side J/B LH connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      IG1D (K73-34) - DD-6 Below 1 Ω
      DD-12 - PD-11 Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - COWL SIDE J/B RH) 
    1. Disconnect the air conditioning amplifier connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      IG+ (K52-21) - DD-14 Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COWL SIDE J/B LH) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      IG1 (A13-16) - PK-1 Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

  9. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      IGSW (A54-86) - Body ground Below 1 V

    OK → See step   16 

    NG: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room R/B No. 1.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      1 - 2 130 to 235 Ω
      3 - 5 10 kΩ or more
      3 - 5 Below 1 Ω
      (Apply battery voltage between 1 and 2)

    NG → REPLACE RELAY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Connect the power source control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Engine room R/B No. 1 IG2 relay terminal 2 - Body ground Below 1 V

    OK → See step   13 

    NG: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the power source control ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Engine room R/B No. 1 IG2 relay terminal 2 - Body ground Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU 

  13. INSPECT STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the A35 stop lamp switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      3 - 4 Not pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 4 Pushed Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Brake Pedal Condition Condition
      A54-70 (ST1-) - Body ground Depressed Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (IG2 RELAY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU OR EACH ECU) 

  15. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
    1. Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .

    YES → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    NO → See step   16 

  16. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS
