Power Meter Gauge Malfunction: Procedure
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER METER OPERATION)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the tester ON.
- Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
- Check the operation by referring to the table below.COMBINATION METER:
Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Power Meter Operation Power meter -50 / 50 / 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 kW - OK
Needle indication is normal.
- Check the input signal waveform.
- Disconnect the K31 meter connector.
- Connect the oscilloscope to the terminals PMET and body ground.
- Start the engine.
- Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.
Item Condition Tool setting 5 V/DIV., 50 ms./DIV. Vehicle condition Turn the power switch to the ON (IG) position.
NG → REPLACE COMBINATION METER
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK COMBINATION METER (PMT1 SIGNAL)

- Disconnect the K31 meter connector.
- Connect the oscilloscope to the terminals PMET and body ground.
- Start the engine.
- Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.
Item Condition Tool setting 5 V/DIV., 50 msc./DIV. Vehicle condition Turn the power switch to the ON (IG) position.
NG → REPLACE COMBINATION METER
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COMBINATION METER - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU)

- Disconnect the K31 meter connector.
- Disconnect the A54 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Specified Condition K31-27 (PMT1) - A54-78 (PMET) Below 1 Ω K31-27 (PMT1) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
