Tire And Wheel System: Inspection

  1. INSPECT TIRE 
    1. Check the tires for wear and proper inflation pressure.

      Cold tire inflation pressure 

      COLD TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE SPECIFICATION

      Tire size Front kPa (kgf/cm2 , psi) Rear kPa (kgf/cm2 , psi)
      225/65R17 101S 220 (2.2, 32) 220 (2.2, 32)
      P235/55R18 99V 210 (2.1, 30) 210 (2.1, 30)

      for KOREA 

      COLD TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE SPECIFICATION

      Tire size Front kPa (kgf/cm2 , psi) Rear kPa (kgf/cm2 , psi)
      235/55R18 101S 220 (2.2, 32) 220 (2.2, 32)
    2. Using a dial indicator, check the tire runout (vertical and horizontal).

      Tire runout: 1.4 mm (0.055 in.) or less 

  2. ROTATE TIRES 
    1. See the illustration for where to rotate each tire.

  3. INSPECT WHEEL BALANCE 
    1. Check and adjust the off-the-car balance.
    2. If necessary, check and adjust the on-the-car balance.

      Imbalance after adjustment: 8.0 g (0.018 lb) or less

  4. INSPECT BEARING LOOSENESS  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
  5. INSPECT AXLE HUB RUNOUT  (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
