Inspection Procedure
- CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (LOOSENESS AND POOR CONTACT)
- Check the connections of all HV control ECU connectors.
OK:
Connectors are connected securely and there is no poor connection.

NG: CONNECT SECURELY
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check the connections of all HV control ECU connectors.
- INSPECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Result

A: Go to step 5
B: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+B SHORT)
- Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Result
+B SHORTTester Connection Voltage Proceed to GMT (H32-22) - GMTG (H32-32) Approximately 0 V A 9 to 14 V B NOTE: Turning the ignition switch to the ON position with the HV control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing the inspection.
A: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
B: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+B SHORT)
- Remove the w/ converter inverter. (See INVERTER WITH CONVERTER )
- Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
- Disconnect the M13 generator temperature sensor connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
+B SHORTTester Connection Specified Condition GMT (M13-4) - Body ground Approximately 0 V NOTE: Turning the ignition switch to the ON position with the HV control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing the inspection.HINT:
The generator temperature sensor is not available as a single product. If it requires replacement, replace the HV transaxle assembly.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
- INSPECT GENERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
- Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
GENERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (1 OF 2)Tester Connection Resistance Temperature GMT (H32-22) - GMTG (H32-32) 142.6 to 184.1 kΩ 0°C (32°F) 44.2 to 54.4 kΩ 25°C (77°F) 16.2 to 19.1 kΩ 50°C (122°F) 3.1 to 3.5 kΩ 100°C (212°F) - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
GENERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (2 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition GMT (H32-22) or GMTG (H32-32) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
NG: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
NG: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HV CONTROL ECU - GENERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
- Remove the w/ converter inverter. (See INVERTER WITH CONVERTER )
- Disconnect the H32 connector from the HV control ECU.
- Disconnect the M13 generator temperature sensor connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
HV CONTROL ECU - GENERATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR (1 OF 2)Tester Connection Specified Condition GMT (H32-22) - GMT (M13-4) Below 1 Ω GMTG (H32-32) - GMTG (M13-9) Below 1 Ω - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
