Inspection Procedure

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / SRS AIRBAG / DTC.
4. Read output DTC.

   Result: 

   DTCs for the airbag system are output. 

YES: GO TO  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

NO: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Connect the oscilloscope tester to the HV control ECU terminals specified in the table below and check the waveform.
   HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
   
   

   Item	Contents
   Terminal	ABFS (H29-8) - E1 (H31-5)
   Equipment	Setting 5 V/DIV, 500 ms/DIV
   Condition	READY-on state

   OK: 

   The waveform appears as shown in the illustration.

NG: Go to step   4 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

NEXT: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the A20 connector from the airbag sensor assembly center.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance 

   AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER
   
   

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   GSW2 (A20-23) - E1 (A20-27)	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER 

OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

1. Disconnect the H29 connector from the HV control ECU.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance 

   HV CONTROL ECU - AIR BAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY CENTER
   
   

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   ABFS (H29-8) or GSW2 (A20-23) - Body ground	10 kΩ or higher

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
