Inspection Procedure

- READ OUTPUT DTC (HV)
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / HV ECU / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
- Read output DTCs. (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR
)
Result:
DTCs other than P3000-388 and P3000-389 are output.
YES: GO TO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
NO: GO TO NEXT STEP
- CHECK ENGINE START
- Put the vehicle into the READY-on state. Check if the engine starts.
OK:
The engine starts.
YES: LEAVE VEHICLE IN P POSITION, AND CHARGE HV BATTERY IN IDLE STATUS UNTIL IDLING STOPS
NO: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Put the vehicle into the READY-on state. Check if the engine starts.
- CHECK CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REVOLUTION (P POSITION)
- Turn the ignition switch off, move the shift lever to the P position, and lift up the vehicle.
- Turn the crank pulley by hand to check if the crankshaft rotates.CAUTION: Do not put the vehicle into the READY-on state while performing this inspection. Be sure to turn the ignition switch off because the engine may start.
OK:
The crankshaft rotates.
NG: Go to step 4
OK: REPLACE HV BATTERY
- CHECK CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REVOLUTION (N POSITION)
- Turn the ignition switch off, move the shift lever to the N position, and lift up the vehicle.
- Turn the crank pulley by hand to check if the crankshaft rotates.CAUTION: Do not put the vehicle into the READY-on state while performing this inspection. Be sure to turn the ignition switch off because the engine may start.
OK:
The crankshaft rotates.
OK: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE ENGINE
