Front Drive Shaft: Removal

REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO. 1
REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO. 2
DRAIN HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE FLUID (See HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID )
REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB NUT (See REMOVAL )
SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
1. Remove the 2 bolts and clip, and separate the sensor wire and hose from the shock absorber.
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT DISC (See DISASSEMBLY )
SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
SEPARATE FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER NO. 1
1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, and separate the front suspension arm sub-assembly lower No. 1 from the lower ball joint.
REMOVE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE COWL TOP SILENCER PAD (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING (See DISASSEMBLY )
REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH
1. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly LH.
  SST 09520-01010, 09520-24010 (09520-32040)
  NOTE:
  - Be careful not to damage the transaxle case oil seal and inboard joint boot.
  - Be careful not to drop the drive shaft assembly.

REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH
1. Using pliers, remove the bearing bracket hole snap ring.

2. Remove the bolt from the drive shaft bearing bracket.

3. Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly RH.
  SST 09520-01010, 09520-24010 (09520-32040)
  NOTE:
  - Be careful not to damage the transaxle case oil seal and inboard joint boot.
  - Be careful not to drop the drive shaft assembly.
