NG: CONNECT SECURELY
OK: GO TO NEXT STEP
- Check the connections of all HV control ECU connectors.
- READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (Rr MOTOR TEMP)
- Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / HV ECU / DATA LIST / Rr MOTOR TEMP.
- Read the value of "Rr MOTOR TEMP" in the data list displayed on the intelligent tester.
Result
Rr MOTOR TEMPA A B C Rr MOTOR TEMP (°C) -50 205 -49 to 204 HINT:
- If there is an open or +B short circuit, -50°C will be displayed.
- If there is a GND short circuit, 205°C will be displayed.
B: Go to step 6
C: CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
A: GO TO NEXT STEP
- INSPECT REAR MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
- Disconnect the M17 rear motor temperature sensor connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Result
REAR MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSORTester Connection Voltage Proceed to RMT (M17-1) - RMTG (M17-3) Approximately 5 V A 9 to 14 V B Approximately 0 V C HINT:
The rear motor temperature sensor is not available as a single product. If it requires replacement, replace the rear traction motor w/ transaxle assembly.
B: Go to step 4
C: Go to step 5
A: REPLACE REAR TRACTION MOTOR W/TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HV CONTROL ECU - REAR MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
- Disconnect the H30 connector from the HV control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
HV CONTROL ECU - REAR MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSORTester Connection Specified Condition RMT (M17-1) - Body ground Approximately 0 V NOTE: Turning the ignition switch to the ON position with the HV control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing the inspection.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
- READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (Rr MOTOR TEMP)
- Using SST, create a short circuit between terminals RMT (H30-21) and RMTG (H30-20) of the vehicle side connector of the HV control ECU.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/ MOBD / HV ECU / DATA LIST / Rr MOTOR TEMP.
- Read the value of "Rr MOTOR TEMP" displayed on the intelligent tester.
Standard:
Displayed temperature is 205°C
HINT:
If the intelligent tester shows a temperature of -50°C, check the connection of the HV control ECU. If it is connected normally, replace the HV control ECU.
NG: REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU
OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
