Installation
AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE SHAFT: INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT OIL SEAL LH
(a) Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new oil seal.
NOTICE:
Do not allow foreign matter, etc. to contact the axle shaft housing hole.

2. INSTALL REAR AXLE SHAFT LH
(a) Install the O-ring to the axle housing.
(b) Install the rear axle shaft and parking brake plate with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 60 Nm (612 kgf-cm, 44 ft-lbf)
3. CONNECT REAR SPEED SENSOR LH Installation
4. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY Reassembly
5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly
6. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly
7. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH Reassembly
8. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING LH Reassembly
9. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION Reassembly
10. INSTALL REAR DISC LH Installation
11. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Connect the rear disc brake cylinder and install 2 new bolts.
Torque: 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
- Do not twist the flexible hose.
- Make sure that the bolts are free from damage and foreign matter.
- Do not overtighten the bolts.
12. CONNECT REAR BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE
(a) Set the flexible hose to the connecting point with the brake tube, and then install a new clip.
(b) Using union nut wrench, connect the flexible hose to the brake tube while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.
without union nut wrench - Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
with union nut wrench - Torque: 14 Nm (145 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
HINT: Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.8 in.).
NOTICE:
- Do not bend or damage the brake tube.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting point.
13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
14. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair
15. BLEED AIR FROM BRAKE LINE Service and Repair
16. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR Testing and Inspection
17. CHECK FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
18. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL OIL Service and Repair
19. INSPECT FOR DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAK
20. CHECK PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments
21. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments
22. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Check the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
23. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
(a) Check the speed sensor signal Test Mode Procedure.
24. INSTALL REAR WHEEL LH
Torque: 131 Nm (1336 kgf-cm, 97 ft-lbf)
