3UR-FE EMISSION CONTROL: AIR PUMP: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT AIR PUMP ASSEMBLY






(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the air pump assembly.
(b) Check the operation of the air pump.





(1) Check that air does not flow from port A to port B.





(2) Apply battery voltage to the connector, and check the air pump operation.
OK:






If the result is not as specified, replace the air pump assembly.
NOTICE:

- Do not operate the air pump continuously for 2 minutes or more.
- When operating the air pump, wait 5 minutes until the pump has cooled down between each operation. If the pump has not cooled down sufficiently, the motor will burn out.
