Tail Gate

DOOR / HATCH: TAIL GATE: INSPECTION





1. INSPECT BACK DOOR REMOTE CONTROL ASSEMBLY
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:





If the result is not as specified, replace the back door remote control assembly.
2. INSPECT LOWER TAIL GATE LOCK ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Operation check:
(1) Set the lower tail gate lock LH to the full-latch position.
(2) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the lower tail gate lock motor LH.
OK:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly LH.
(3) Set the lower tail gate lock LH to the half-latch position.
(4) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the lower tail gate lock motor LH.
OK:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly LH.






(b) Resistance check:
(1) Measure the resistance according of the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

Close Position Switch





If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly LH.
Lower Tail Gate Courtesy Switch:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly LH.
Half-latch Switch:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly LH.
Pawl Switch:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly LH.
3. INSPECT LOWER TAIL GATE LOCK ASSEMBLY RH






(a) Operation check:
(1) Set the lower tail gate lock RH to the full-latch position.
(2) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the lower tail gate lock motor RH.
OK:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly RH.
(3) Set the lower tail gate lock RH to the half-latch position.
(4) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the lower tail gate lock motor RH.
OK:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly RH.






(b) Resistance check:
(1) Measure the resistance according of the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

Close Position Switch





If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly RH.
Lower Tail Gate Courtesy Switch:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly RH.
Half-latch Switch:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly RH.
Pawl Switch:






If the result is not as specified, replace the lower tail gate lock assembly RH.
