Front Passenger Side Knee Airbag Assembly: Installation

  1. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the connector.
      NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
    2. Install the front passenger side knee airbag with the 3 bolts attach the claw.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL 
    1. Attach the 1 clips and the 2 claws to install the panel.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  8. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (see HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  ).
