Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly With PRETENSIONER: Inspection

INSPECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
1. Check the tension reducer operation.
  NOTE: Do not apply battery voltage to the pretensioner connector.
  1. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 of the tension reducer connector and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
  2. Check that an operating sound is heard when the magnetized solenoid is attracting the plunger.

  3. Pull out the seat belt and allow it to retract. Listen to the operating sound.
  4. Pull out the seat belt again, disconnect the battery's negative (-) lead and allow the seat belt to retract. Listen to the operating sound again and check that the operating sound volume has increased.
    If the result is not as specified, replace the outer belt assembly.
