COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH (for 4WD): Removal

REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER (See REMOVAL )
DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
1. Start up the engine.
2. Turn the A/C switch on.
3. Operate the cooler compressor at an engine rpm of approximately 1,000 for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor as much as possible.
4. Stop the engine.
5. Using SST, let the refrigerant gas out.

REMOVE UNDER ENGINE COVER
REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET
1. Remove the bolt, nut, and oil filter bracket.

REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the connector and 2 clamps, and separate the wire harness.

2. Remove the 2 nuts, bolts, and oil filter bracket sub-assembly.
  HINT:
  
  Place a container under the connection because engine oil will leak out when separating the oil filter bracket.

REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH
1. Disconnect the connector.
2. Remove the 2 bolts and nut.

3. Using a "Torx" socket wrench (E8), remove the stud bolt and the compressor and magnetic clutch.
