Rear Door: Adjustment

CAUTION: Before adjusting the door positions of vehicles equipped with side and curtain shield airbags, be sure to disconnect the battery. After adjustment, check that the SRS warning light is operating normally and there are no SRS DTCs output.

HINT

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system (See PRECAUTION ).
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  2. ADJUST REAR DOOR 
    1. Using SST, loosen the body hinge bolts and adjust the door position

      SST 09812-00010 

    2. Tighten the body hinge bolts after the adjustment.

      Torque: 26 N*m (265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Loosen the door hinge bolts and adjust the door position.
    4. Tighten the door hinge bolts after the adjustment.

      Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

    5. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the cover

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    6. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T40), adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic hammer
    7. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T40), tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment

      Torque: 23 N*m (235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf)

  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  4. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
