Section 60 (Starting (2GR-FSE)): Starter: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL  (See REMOVAL )
  3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH  (See REMOVAL )
  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  5. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE  (See REMOVAL )
  6. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR  (See REMOVAL )
  7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
  8. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and ground cable.
    2. Remove the bolt and engine wire bracket.

    3. Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the engine room No. 3 relay block.

    4. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor (for sensor 1) connector.

    5. Remove the 6 nuts, exhaust manifold and gasket.

  9. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the terminal 50 connector from the starter assembly.
    2. Detach the terminal cap.
    3. Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from terminal 30.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
